Situated on Gatokae Island in the Western Province of the Solomon Islands, Ropiko Beach Resort is the gateway to the beautiful Marovo Lagoon, the largest double barrier lagoon in the world. Nestled in a large coconut grove with a private white sand beach and surrounded by stunning orchids, Ropiko is a true tropical paradise.

Ropiko was originally set up as a eco resort in 1994, to employ local village people and promote sustainability. Some of the initiatives the resort is involved with are sustainable fishing, composting, recycling, organic gardening, using local suppliers, and involving local residents in their village tours and therefore keeping income on the island.

To get to Ropiko, you can fly to Seghe airstrip and they will meet your flights, or if arriving by boat, via Bunikalo wharf.

Ropiko has 3 different room types which can be configured in multiple ways. All rooms have modern amenities, quality linen and towels, ceiling fans, mosquito nets on all windows and tea and coffee making facilities.

Queen Bungalow - an open plan bungalow with one Queen bed (5 available).
Family Bungalow - 2 bedrooms with adjoining bathroom and separate sitting area. Bedrooms have 1 double bed in each room (3 available).
Dormitory Beds - large open plan dorm bungalow has 10 beds (bunk style). Please remember when booking that you may be sharing the room with other guests.

Using home grown organic vegetables, fruits and freshly caught fish, one of their delights is the food. Their menu includes wholesome dishes cooked in local styles with a western flavour. Please let us know before your arrival if you have any dietary requirements so we can do our best to meet them. Food packages can be pre-paid or purchased from our menu and charged to your room account and settled at the end of your stay.

Diving is outsourced to the nearby Wilderness Lodge, but can be arranged through Solomon Island Holidays and pre-paid so secure your position.

Price

From $1825 per person with no meals or $2200 per person with all meals, based on two people staying in a dormitory room.
From $2025 per person with no meals or $2386 per person with all meals, based two people staying in a Queen Bungalow.
Other room types are available. Groups of more than 2 and up to 6 people will save on boat transfer costs.

Prices are quoted in AUD, exclude GST, are valid until 31 December 2015 but are subject to change without notice due to currency variations and increases in taxes. Prices cannot be guaranteed until paid in full. All international bank and credit card fees will be borne by the client. A $500 per person, non refundable deposit is due at the time of booking with the balance due no later than 60 days prior to departure. Bookings made within 30 days must be paid in full.
